DUKE CENTER — Junior Pat Pascarella was the only Bradford player
— in baseball or softball — to garner all-star honors as the
District 9 Northern Allegany Baseball-Softball League announced its
star-studded rosters for each of its three divisions Friday.
Pascarella’s bat helped propel him onto the D-9 Large School
Division All-Star roster as a shortstop. The junior, according to
maxpreps.com, had team-bests in
batting average (.444), slugging percentage (.963), hits (24) and
RBIs (20).
Serving as a bright spot for the 4-14 Owls, Pascarella also led
the team with eight home runs, 25 runs scored and eight stolen
bases.
The league officially announced each division champion, too.
DuBois High School swept the baseball and softball titles in the
D-9 Large School divisions.
In the small school north division, Coudersport and Oswayo
Valley were baseball co-champions. The Lady Falcons were the
outright winners of the north division in softball.
The other high school in DuBois — DuBois Central Christian —
took this year’s small school south division crown in baseball.
Elk County Catholic, which is coming off its fourth D-9 Class A
softball title in a decade, ran away with the south division
title.
The Lady Crusaders are still undefeated heading into a PIAA
playoff game against Bentworth on Monday in Brockway.
Elk Catholic’s baseball team will join their counterparts Monday
in the state playoffs, taking on California, Pa., at the same
location.
