MECHANICSBURG, PA – As the countdown to the 2024 Paris Olympics continues to near closer to the opening ceremonies on Friday, Pennsylvania is represented well across various sports.
Thirty-three former Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) student-athletes from member schools are among the 41 athletes, 32 Olympians and 9 Paralympians from the Keystone State.
They are set to compete on the world’s biggest stage, representing the United States of America, while two others are set to compete for a different country, Puerto Rico. Pennsylvania sits fourth for the state with the most 2024 Olympic qualifiers.
Although each Olympic dream or vision may have come at different times of their lives. These athletes’ abilities are developed at the junior high and high school levels.
Being selected and participating on an Olympic team is one of the most
outstanding achievements an athlete can have.
