RIDGWAY — Two men were killed in a two-vehicle accident at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday on Toby Road in Fox Township, Elk County.
Ridgway-based state police said Austin Jay Miller, 22, of 507 3rd Ave., Johnsonburg, and Dallan Richard Pangallo, 21, of 134 Ridge Road, Kersey, both died as a result of the crash.
Police said a Dodge Neon driven by Miller was traveling east on Toby Road while a GMC Acadia driven by Andrew Gahr, 43, of St. Marys, was traveling west.
Miller’s car went out of control while going around a left curve in the road and traveled into the westbound lane, into the path of Gahr’s sport-utility vehicle. The right front portion of the car struck the front of the SUV, ejecting both Miller and Pangallo from the car, police said.
Pangallo was pronounced dead at the scene. Miller was pronounced dead at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys.
Police did not indicate if any of the passengers in the SUV were injured. In the SUV were Diana Gahr, 69, of Kersey, in the passenger front; Mary Lee Deprator, 64, of St. Marys, in the second row, left; Leslie Gahr, 42, of St. Marys, second row, right; a four-year-old female in the third row, left; and a seven-year-old male in the third row, right.
