RUSSELL — Timothy J. O’Brien, M.D. recently welcomed local surgeon Nate Graham to Pine Grove Ambulatory Surgical Center, headquartered in Russell, Warren County.
After the recent closure of the operating rooms at Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford surgeon Nate Graham chose Pine Grove Ambulatory Surgical Center to continue to serve the Bradford community with his surgical expertise.
“What a wonderful opportunity to have two local doctors, one a home-grown Bradford man and the other a well-respected Bradford surgeon, to collaborate to continue to bring Dr. Graham’s expertise to the Bradford community,” said Scott Spangler, director of Pine Grove Ambulatory Surgical Center.
O’Brien, one of the early founders of Pine Grove and a Bradford native, was saddened to hear of the hospital closing, but immediately reached out to Graham to discuss the opportunity for his practice to continue providing his high-quality surgical services to the Bradford community. “Pine Grove is a state-of-the-art facility just a short drive from Bradford and will be a great fit for Dr. Graham and his patients.”
O’Brien’s cataract patients have been coming to Pine Grove for years and really like the service that they have received. “The Bradford community is extremely fortunate to have such a skilled surgeon such as Dr. Graham,” O’Brien said.
Graham trained as a scientist at Johns Hopkins University, and received his medical degree from Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been practicing for more than 30 years. He is board certified and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is an expert in colonoscopies, and upper endoscopies to treat reflux. Graham also specializes in hernia repairs, laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, ports for chemotherapy, carpal tunnel release, and a full range of breast surgery including breast augmentation, breast reduction, and breast conserving treatment for breast cancer — a topic of his original research in training.
Graham commented, “I am excited about this new chapter in life and practice. Pine Grove offers a beautiful, efficient, modern facility to continue my work serving McKean County and the surrounding communities. With the sad closing of our hospital OR, I want to keep surgery available in Pennsylvania with a great patient experience.”
He will continue to see patients in his Bradford office, he said, “where Rachel Harten, PA-C and I do office procedures such as skin cancers and other dermatological procedures. My nurse and patient coordinator, Stephanie Butler, will assist our patients in scheduling with the surgery center.”
The Pine Grove Ambulatory Surgery Center is located at 10 Timberview Lane, Russell, PA 16345.
