COUDERSPORT — Coudersport residents will be disappointed to hear that the roof collapse at Goodwill and the Fine Wine & Good Spirits at 151 Route 6 W means the end of an era for the store in Coudersport.
The Pennsylvania Liquor and Control Board announced Wednesday that the store will not reopen after the structure was declared unsafe.
“We are grateful that no one was seriously injured in the building collapse, and we thank the first responders who arrived on the scene so quickly to help the victims Friday night,” said PLCB Chairman Tim Holden. “The PLCB is looking for a new location from which to serve the people of Coudersport, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of our Potter County customers.”
Several employees and shoppers were in the Goodwill at the time of the roof collapse. All managed to exit the building and were treated at a local hospital for their injuries and released.
The PLCB stated customers are encouraged to shop at the FW&GS locations in Galeton in Potter County or Port Allegany in McKean County. There are also locations in Bradford, Kane, Ridgway, Emporium and Warren.
The PLCB regulates the distribution of beverage alcohol in Pennsylvania, operates 600 wine and spirits stores statewide, and licenses 20,000 alcohol producers, retailers, and handlers.
