WARREN — Long time Erie County Technical School Director, Dr. Aldo Jackson, will join the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College as the Dean of Erie operations.
As lead administrator in Erie County, Jackson will work with employers, area schools, industrial advisory boards and community groups to identify credit and non-credit opportunities to serve the region. As Dean, Jackson will also provide direction and coordination of instructional and student services for the area.
The Erie Dean will also play an important role in developing workforce programs locally, and across the Regional College service area. Jackson will work from an Erie-based office of the NPRC with support staff and a student success specialist who will do recruiting travel and direct student support.
Jackson’s appointment, effective Feb. 5, supports the Regional College goal of providing its own courses and curricula for Fall 2018. Initial offerings will include interdisciplinary studies and business, as well as new programs in early childhood education, criminal justice, and human services. Jackson will administer the business operations of the Erie area, including classroom locations, faculty identification and development, and will participate in classroom instruction as a faculty member.
Also ahead for the regional college is the development of “hands on” technical programs
designed to fill jobs in manufacturing and related disciplines.
