The Callahan Ice Rink opened for the season Nov. 7 and hundreds of area residents have already laced up their skates to hit the ice. Chip Comilla, Bradford City Department of Public Works’ Parks Facilities director, reported 476 students, 22 adults and four seniors have made use of the rink in just one week. Counting those involved in the Bradford Blizzard hockey program, the total climbs to 1,013. Student and senior admission is $4, adults pay $5 and skate rentals are $3. The rink, at 64 Poplin Ave., offers public skating hours 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
