Shine a light with Amenca250PA tonight for ‘Two Lights for Tomorrow’
America250PA McKean County announced Thursday that Bradford, and all of Pennsylvania, will join communities across the country tonight for Two Lights for Tomorrow — a national tribute marking the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere’s ride and the beginning of America’s journey toward independence.
Inspired by the historic ‘two if by sea’ lantern signal of 1775, Two Lights for Tomorrow invites individuals, organizations, civic buildings and homes to display two lights as a symbolic act of unity — reflecting on our shared past and looking ahead to a brighter future together.
‘In Harrisburg, the Pennsylvania Capitol will be illuminated to mark the occasion. But this moment is truly about all of us — and we hope you’ll join in,’ said an America250PA spokesperson.
In downtown Bradford, the Hooker-Fulton Building will light up for the first time in several years — since before the pandemic.
‘What a great opportunity to bring some positive light into the community and proudly display one of our own gems in our downtown district,’ said Darren Litz, America250PA McKean County Advisory Chair.
‘Michelle and Sheila Aaron-Simmons, owners of the Hooker-Fulton Building, have been working very hard to get the lights up and running for this significant event.’

“The semiquincentennial is a once-in-a-generation moment to reflect on who we are, what we’ve built together, and where we’re going next,” said Cassandra Coleman, executive director of America250PA. “As we prepare to illuminate the Capitol and landmarks across the commonwealth, we’re sending a clear message: Pennsylvania shows up — with pride, with purpose and with a belief in the power of community. Together, let’s light the way to America’s 250th anniversary, coming in 2026.”
