Registration open for Children’s Theatre Workshop
Bradford Creative and Performing Arts Center’s Arts in Education Committee announced open registrations for this year’s Missoula Children’s Theatre Workshop.
This year’s presentation will be ‘Treasure Island,’ an original adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s epic novel.
The workshop will take place in Blaisdell Hall at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford from June 30 to July 3. It will run 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday (ages 6 and 7 will be done at 12:30). On Thursday activities will begin at noon with the performance scheduled for 6 p.m.
‘This change in schedule will allow us to invite our New York state friends who have been wanting to get involved with Missoula,’ a BCPAC representative said.
Young Jim Hawkins, a mischievous lad, lives with his mother and six sisters in a seaside village on the coast of Maine. The year is 1782 and the American Revolutionary War is in its last days. Longing for adventure, Jim comes under the hypnotic spell of the legendary pirate, Long John
Silver. While waiting tables at the family inn, Jim finds a treasure map and, with the villainous Silver as his seeming mentor, sails uncharted seas with only the ragged map and a flock of gulls as guides.
Always up for adventure, Jim’s ruffian friends

Children from Missoula Children’s Theatre’s 2024 production of “Pinocchio” perform for a full house at Bromeley Family Theatre.
BCPAC say farewell to their mariner parents and serve as cabin boys for Silver and his band of hilarious (although unsavory) pirate types. Once on the island, nights are sleepless as true colors are revealed in the hero’s quest for the proverbial happy ending.
Registration is now open and will follow last year’s two-step process for efficient registration. There is also an option to purchase MCT t-shirts during the process. Register student(s) online at bcpac.com under the Arts in Education tab, or stop in at the BCPAC office at 119 Main St.
Space is limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. BCPAC representatives noted that the workshop has sold out in 48 hours, so interested parties should act early.
