You’ve lived in McKean County your whole life and you think you know what makes this area a great place to live and visit, but do you really?
Trail Central Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau invites you to experience Bradford, Kane, Mount Jewett and Smethport through the lens of a visitor experiencing the heritage, attractions and food and drink of McKean County on the Backyard Tour set May 2.
The day, which begins at 8 a.m., includes information visits and tours of the Marilyn Horne Museum and Exhibit Center, Bradford; Penn-Brad Oil Museum, Bradford; Zippo-Case Museum and Flagship Store, Bradford; McKean County Historical Society, Smethport; Kinzua Bridge State Park & Visitor Center, Mount Jewett; Kane Manor Inn, Kane; Kane Historical Preservation Society & McCleery Discovery Center, Kane; and the Kane Family Drive Inn, Kane.
The event will include food and beverages from Eddie’s On Main in Port Allegany and Bradford Brew Station. ‘We are excited for our tour of McKean County’s history through part of our Museum Trail, Pennsylvania’s No. 1 State Park, Newsweek’s Top 10 Historical Bed & Breakfast, behind the scenes at the drive inn and delectable food and drink, it will be a fun day,’ said Rustin Lippincott, executive director, Trail Central Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau. ‘We will fill the bus ride with conversations with chamber and civic leaders, and tour highlights, McKean County trivia and interesting facts.’
The Backyard Tour 2025 is open to the public. Tickets are $50 and include motorcoach travel, lunch, tastings and snacks as well as a McKean County welcome bag.
