Breindel was two-for-three and Brem and Leathers each had an RBI for ECC in its 4-2 win over Bradford.

Gilmore earned the mound win for ECC, striking out five and giving up four hits, walking none.

On the mound for Bradford was Anthony Lama, who struck out six and walked four while giving up four runs over seven innings.

Braylon Austin had an RBI for Bradford while Tarren Reese had two hits in three at-bats. BASEBALL SMETHPORT 7, OSWAYO VALLEY 2 SHINGLEHOUSE — Colin Riekofsky had two RBIs, while Dominic Ritts and Cole Burdick each had one for Smethport.

O. Rounsville earned the mound win, striking out nine and walking one while giving up only three hits.

KANE 10, PORT ALLEGANY 8 PORT ALLEGANY — Eric Novosel doubled and had three hits in three at-bats during Kane’s win Friday.

Brock Wensel also doubled for the Wolves.

Phinn Chamberlain earned the mound win for the Wolves, striking out nine and walking two while giving up six hits.

On the mound for Port Allegany was Nick Wilfong, who struck out seven and walked two while giving up three hits. SOFTBALL OSWAYO VALLEY 17, SMETHPORT 6 SHINGLEHOUSE — Oswayo Valley used a triple and double by MaKenna Manning and doubles by Olivia Fetzer and Shayden Mesler to secure Friday’s win.

On the mound for OV was Mesler, who struck out 10 and walked 13 while throwing a one-hitter.

J. Miller was on the mound for Smethport, walking five and giving up 13 hits with no strikeouts.

Leading the Lady Hubbers at the plate were J Goodman with an RBI and E McKeirnan with one hit in two at-bats.

PORT ALLEGANY 18, KANE 8 KANE — Peyton Gordon smashed a solo home run to left field to key Port Allegany to victory.

Also leading the Lady Gators at bat were Alayna McKervey and Gianna Glasgow, each with four hits.

Bria Wilcox earned the mound win, striking out eight and walking seven while giving up six hits.

On the mound for Kane was Kyleigh McGuire, who struck out five and walked four while giving up 18 hits.

McGuire also went 3-for-4 at bat for the Lady Wolves.

COUDERSPORT 18, CAMERON COUNTY 2 COUDERSPORT — Coudersport used a 17-run second inning to beat Cameron County Friday.

Leading the Lady Falcons at bat were Ciarra Davis with a double and three RBIs.

On the mound for Coudersport was Hannah Fleniken, who struck out five and walked six while surrendering one hit.

Braelyn Bloom suffered the mound loss for Cameron County, striking out two and walking 11 while giving up two hits.

TENNIS ST. MARYS 4, ECC 3 ST. MARYS — St. Marys saw dual wins from Gavin Henry and Blake Hoffman in its 4-3 win over ECC. Hoffman won #1 singles and was part of the winning duo in #2 doubles, while Henry won #2 singles and was part of the team that won #1 doubles.

“We had a gut check to see if we could bounce back against a good ECC team. We thankfully showed a better level (Friday),” said St.

Marys coach Tim Henry.

“ Blake Hoffman plays with extreme confidence and makes difficult shots look easy. Gavin and his ball striking are continuing to level up and keep opponents off balance.

Young raised his shot making from what it was yesterday even though he lost. Merrick did his best filling in at the four spot for us.

“Our rookies in the third doubles spot are showing that their levels are improving also. The match came down to the two top doubles contests.

Having to win both of those matches after not producing yesterday tested the mental grit that our kids have to have to win at this level.”

Henry added, “Gavin and Casey used their height and shot making to dominate the net taking home win #3. Blake and Dakota had the contest on their racquets. Hoffman did the job that an experienced senior needed to do in that must win situation to bring out Cousin’s best level. Great unselfish leadership with an untested freshman in a must win situation.”
