Port A, Coudy baseball claim wins
PORT ALLEGANY — K. Veilleux and T. Carinci each had three RBIs as Port Allegany defeated Smethport 15-1.
Jacob Causer and N. Wilfong shared the mound for Port Allegany, combining to strike out 4 and walk five.
For Smethport, Z. Hungiville, C. Riekofsky and A. Tanner combined to give up 11 walks and strike out two, with four surrendered hits.
BASEBALL Coudersport 8, Northern Potter 7 ULYSSES — Quinn Kratzer went 1-for-3 and Logan Jackson had three hits in three at-bats in the close win.
For Coudersport, Mason Roessner recorded two strikeouts and gave up one walk and zero hits during one inning on the mound, while Danny VanVladricken claimed the mound win, striking out four and giving up one hit over three innings. Lawson Wetzel pitched three innings in relief, striking out six while giving up one hit and one walk.
C Snyder and W Bliss combined to give up seven hits and eight runs while striking out eight for Northern Potter.
For Northern Potter, G Hohenwater and B Risser each recorded one hit.
Oswayo Valley 6, Cameron County 3 ULYSSES — Oswayo Valley had two runs batted in by Drayton Norton to ensure the win.
Luke Karr and Norton combined for the mound win, striking out 11 and walking five while giving up five hits.
On the mound for Cameron County, B Pearsall and T Tucker combined to strike out 14 and walk three while giving up five hits.
St. Marys 8, Brockway 3 BROCKWAY — Errors gave St. Marys four runs and a batter hit by a pitch drove in a fifth run in the first inning Monday.
T. Beimel, L. Nedzinksi and M. Nicklas combined for the mound win, striking out 13 and walking six while giving up only two hits.
Sharing the mound for Brockway were B. Yale and C. Daugherty, who together struck out seven and walked three while giving up three hits.
Bradford 3, Kane 2 Talan Reese, Brody Haviland and Anthony Lama combined to strike out 16 and walk nine while giving up five hits for Bradford in the victory Monday.
At the plate for the Owls, Ben Woodhouse had a solo home run and Sean Ward had two hits in three at-bats.
For Kane, P Chamberlain and B Wetzel combined to strike out 11 while giving up three walks and seven hits.
SOFTBALL Port Allegany 13, Smethport 1 PORT ALLEGANY Bria Wilcox earned the mound win for the Lady Gators, striking out 10.
Leading Port Allegany at the plate were Alayna McKervey (2-for-3, triple) and Gianna Glasgow (two hits).
C Conn was on the mound for Smethport, giving up 13 runs on six hits, with 0 strikeouts and seven walks.
Payton Neff 1-for-3 and Elena McKeirnan each had one hit for Smethport.
Northern Potter 17, Coudersport 2 ULYSSES — Northern Potter’s Ciarra Davis and Jaylyn Williammee each doubled and Lillian Steele went 3-for-3 in Monday’s win. Williammee recorded seven strikeouts and zero walks while giving up four hits over three innings.
For Coudersport, Hannah Fleniken walked seven and gave up four hits and 12 runs.
Oswayo Valley 20, Cameron County 0 SHINGLEHOUSE — Eva West had a double and drove in four runs on three hits to key the Oswayo Valley win.
Also leading OV at the plate were Jadyn Fleischman with a triple, Layken Enty with a double and MacKenna Manning with a triple.
West and Shayden Mesler combined for a no-hitter on the mound for Oswayo Valley.
For Cameron County, V Bloom was on the mound, surrendering 14 hits and 20 runs and recording eight walks over two innings.
Brockway 10, Bradford 0 BROCKWAY — Josie ORinko drove in four runs with two singles to lead Brockway Monday.
Bailee Carberry earned the mound win, pitching a no-hitter while striking out 12 and walking one.
D Greene was on the mound for Bradford, striking out five and walking one while giving up 13 hits.
