Elizabeth Staub
ULYSSES — Elizabeth A. Staub, 96, of Austin, formerly of Mechanicsburg, died March 21, 2025.
Born July 2, 1928, in Enhaut, she was the daughter of Mason D. and Permelia Phillips Staub. She was married to Francis Gibson Staub, who predeceased her on March 13, 1988.
Elizabeth was employed by Commonwealth Bank of Harrisburg, retiring in 1976 and moving to Austin in 1983. An avid bowler, she was active in Wednesday night and Thursday morning leagues at Hickory Lanes in Coudersport. She was a longtime volunteer at Cole Memorial Hospital and served as treasurer of the Looking Glass Gift Shop for 25 years. On Oct. 11, 2012, she was made an honorary member of the Cole Memorial Hospital Board of Directors. Elizabeth was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Coudersport. She served as an elected auditor for two terms in Keating Township. Surviving are a son, Carl M. (Judy) Haas of Ellijay, Ga.; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Jeri-Lee Haas and Debra A. Getz; three brothers; and two sisters.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday (March 26, 2025) at First United Presbyterian Church, Coudersport, where funeral services will immediately follow. The Rev. Doug Orbaker will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (March 27, 2025) in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
