Throw on a denim jacket, feather your hair and pop your collar — Foreigner is heading to Erie County Fair in Hamburg, N.Y., and is looking for a school choir to help them out on their biggest hit.
One lucky middle or high school choir — or 25 members of it and two chaperones — will be onstage with the legendary rock band to perform ‘I Want to Know What Love Is’ at the Buffalo News Grandstand at the Erie County Fair on Aug. 7.
Middle and high school choirs in the Western New York and Northern Pennsylvania region are invited to submit an official entry form and video online featuring a performance from Foreigner’s song catalog at Erie County Fair’s website at ecfair.org/foreignercontest.
Entries can be submitted until April 25.
Foreigner released nine studio albums and 47 singles. Songs include ‘Cold as Ice,’ ‘Urgent,’ ‘Double Vision,’ ‘Say You Will,’ ‘Blue Morning, Blue Day’ and ‘Juke Box Hero.’

Foreigner will perform in August at the Erie (N.Y.) County Fair and is looking for a school choir to help them out.
Facebook photo choir performances will be held April 30 to May 7. The prize will be a $500 donation to the winning choir’s music program, along with the once-in-alifetime performance with Foreigner.
This competition is open to middle and high school choirs, and submissions must be made by the choir director. Each choir may submit one audition video, and there is no entry fee.
The winning choir will be selected through public voting, with each voter allowed one vote per email address per day. Voting begins April 30 at ecfair.org/foreignercontest. Only 25 student choir members and two adult chaperones will be permitted to participate.
This exciting partnership with Foreigner is part of the band’s ongoing support of music education through its collaboration with the Grammy Foundation, which aims to promote the importance of music and the arts in public schools across North America.
Tickets for the Aug. 7 show will go on sale starting June 6 at ECFair.org. Buy in advance to receive free admission to the fair on the day of the concert.
With more than 80 million records sold worldwide, Foreigner stands among the best-selling bands of all time. Known for nine Top 10 Hits — tying with Fleetwood Mac and surpassing Journey — they’ve earned their place as rock legends. Foreigner officially joined the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, cementing their legacy.
