Jacqueline Gigliotti
PORTVILLE, N.Y. — Jacqueline E. “Jackie” Gigliotti of Pleasant Acres Drive passed away Friday (March 14, 2025) at the Pines of Olean with her loving husband, Tom, by her side.
Born July 6, 1939, in Weston Mills, she was a daughter of the late Walter D. and Virginia Kemp Johnston. On Oct.
29, 1976, she married Thomas Gigliotti, who survives.
She attended Otto-Eldred Schools. She had been a resident of the Duke Center-Eldred, Pa., area until 1971, when she moved to Portville.
Jackie worked in the medical field until her retirement in 2006. She worked for Olean General Hospital, Dr. Robert Davis, Dr. Maulik and Dr.
Susan Bennett until she closed her office.
In addition to her husband, Thomas, she is survived by two sons, Lowell W. “Bill” Goldsmith Jr. of Friendship and Jeffrey (Alison) Gigliotti of Bradford, Pa.; three daughters, Deborah (Gary) Rose, Gail (Joe) Wichensky and Amy (Joe) Mackey, all of Bradford; daughter-inlaw, Angela Goldsmith of Belmont; seven grandchildren, Kevin Rose, Doug (Breann) Rose, Dan (Sara) Wichensky, Jodi (Kyle) Swanson, Tyler and Taylor Gigliotti and Chelsea Goldsmith; seven great-grandchildren, Payton and Parker Rose, Krew Rose, Jack and Madison Swanson and Nolan and Lainey Wichensky; sisters, Charlotte (James) Galloway and Bonnie Schwab of Duke Center; brothers, Gary Johnston of Shinglehouse, Pa., and Michael (Terrie) Ogilive of Duke Center; sisterin- law, Paullet “Polly” Phillips of Kane; brother- in-law, William “Bill” Rote of Bradford; sisterin- law, Cindy Johnston of Allegany; stepbrother Gene (Kay) Ogilive of Hagerstown, Md.; stepsister, Ann (Don) Colby of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. She loved all her family and especially her pugs Heidi, Brandi and Bailey.
In addition to her parents, Walter and Virginia, she was predeceased by her stepfather, George “Red” Ogilive; sister, Connie Armstrong; brother, Larry Johnston; brothers-in-law, Edgar Armstrong and Ronald Schwab; and sister-in-law, Vickie Johnston.
Family will receive friends 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wednesday (March 19, 2025) at Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 51 S. Main St., where funeral services will immediately follow with the Rev. Dr. Anthony Evans officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA, 2944 Route 16 North, Olean, NY 14760; your local library or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
There were certain nurses and aides that lightened her eyes and smile when they cared for her at the Field of Dreams and the Pines of Olean, you know who you are.
