Mark Young, of Young Web Design, has more than 17 years under his belt as a website designer, and 12 as a developer. However, he knows the importance of staying abreast of trends and fluctuations in technology.
‘I am a voracious learner who enjoys learning while working,’ said Young.
‘I like to have YouTube videos in the background discussing things like new languages coming out or new ways of reaching an audience.’
Young and his wife recently moved to Bradford from Utah. The couple feel they have found a permanent home here. Young said he can’t imagine ever living anywhere else.
‘I just love this area for its people and its opportunities — it has a lot of small town charm,’ he said.
Young is passionate about this area and says he has a genuine love for the town and its people.
‘I want to see more businesses do well here because there is a lot of room for growth,’ said Young. ‘I believe there are a lot of opportunities here in Bradford.’
Young is looking to apply his knowledge to help local businesses both large and small build a cutting edge website that will allow them to reach their target audience more effectively. The creative digital agency blends data-driven strategies with intuitive design to create websites that are both visually compelling and highly functional.
In this age of the smartphone, a website that functions and looks beautiful on every device is a key ingredient to success.
‘I track analytics for many of my clients and 80 percent of web traffic is driven through smartphones,’ said Young.
Young’s primary focus is on building websites but he also offers a slew of other services. ‘I have built custom applications and software to support any industry you can think of,’ said Young. ‘When business owners come to me, I can build them anything they Young… page A-8 can imagine. He also offers branding identity, photography, videography, SEO and marketing consultations.

He referenced a business he worked for that hadn’t had any new leads from its website in two years.
“Within two months I got them a lead a week — now it is up to two leads a week,” said Young.
He said he is dedicated to providing businesses with affordable web solutions that deliver real results. His focus on timelines means that businesses can start building their digital footprint in just a few weeks.
When a client comes to him, they will have an initial meeting. From there, he creates a proposal that will show the client what he intends to create along with a price.
“About two weeks out of that we have what I call a beta version where most of the design layout is there and we are figuring things out like functionality,” said Young.
Once all the details are ironed out, Young is usually able to launch the website after another two weeks of work.
“So it takes about a month, from start to finish, to get you up and running,” said Young.
Locally, Young has noticed that many businesses don’t have a website or they rely on a Facebook page. He describes that as a massive detriment.
“Sure, it is free to go on Facebook but if the only people who know about your business are the people already using it then how are you going to get more business?” he asked.
