OLEAN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College will host Retirement Planning Today courses for individuals looking toward their financial future.
The two-session course is available Tuesdays, March 25 and April 1, or Wednesdays, March 26 and April 2, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hatch Café on the Cattaraugus County Campus at 260 N. Union St.
The course is designed for people aged 50 to 70 and covers retirement income planning, investment strategies, tax-saving techniques and estate planning. Attendees will learn how to navigate retirement challenges, including inflation, Social Security uncertainty and market volatility.
The classes are led by Mark Hendrix, an certified financial planner and investment adviser representative. Hendrix is a registered representative with Cetera Advisor Networks and has extensive experience helping local residents plan for retirement, organizers said.
The course includes six hours of instruction, a comprehensive textbook and an optional one-on-one consultation. Tuition is $45, and participants may bring a spouse or guest at no additional cost.
