A Bradford man waived a hearing Wednesday before District Judge Rich Luther on assault allegations.
Wayne Baker, 26, of 303 Derrick Road, upper, is charged with strangulation, a second-degree felony; two counts of simple assault, second-degree misdemeanors; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, on Feb. 6, Foster Township Police were dispatched to Baker’s address for a report of an assault. At the scene, police found that Wayne had been arguing with a family member, and the argument escalated. Wayne put the other person in a chokehold, causing breathing issues. After Wayne released the hold, the victim called 911.
When police were at the residence, they saw in plain view a bong in Wayne’s bedroom, the complaint stated.
He waived his preliminary hearing and remains free on $10,000 bail. He is represented by Public Defender Phil Clabaugh.
