This year’s primary election on May 20 will have judgeships, county row offices, school board seats and municipal offices on the ballot in McKean County.
For the state, one seat each in the Superior and Commonwealth courts will be on the ballot. In the November election, three judges in the Supreme Court will be up for retention, as will one each in the Superior and Commonwealth courts.
In McKean County, one seat on the Court of Common Pleas will be up for election. That is the second judgeship to which Michele Alfieri-Causer has been appointed. She is seeking election to the post as well.
McKean County row offices of sheriff, prothonotary, controller and treasurer will be up for election as well.
For school districts’ boards of directors, in Bradford and Kane, where the directors are at large — meaning not from specific regions within the district — there are four openings for each board. At Otto-Eldred, there are two vacancies in Region I, one in Region II, and two in Region III. At Oswayo Valley, there are two open seats in Region I. At Smethport, there are two in Region I, one in Region II and one in Region III.
The City of Bradford has seats to be filled in the election as well. There is one term of tax collector and four for Bradford City Council, three of which are four-year terms and one of which is a two-year term.
Kane Borough and Lewis Run Borough will vote for a mayor and three council seats. Mount Jewett Borough will vote for a mayor and four council seats of four-year terms and one of a two-year term. Port Allegany Borough will vote for a mayor and four council seats of four-year terms.
Eldred Borough will vote for a mayor and two council members.
Six-year term for township supervisor will be up for Bradford, Foster, Lafayette, Otto, Norwich, Annin, Ceres, Corydon, Eldred, Hamilton, Hamlin, Liberty and Wetmore townships.
Keating Township will vote for three township supervisors.
