SMETHPORT — A Bradford man pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to charges involving the rape of a child.
Andrew Wegemer-Silsby, 36, formerly of East Main Street in Foster Township, entered a guilty plea to one count each of rape of a child and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.
District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg Shaffer said that on Sept. 26, 2016, and continuing through March 1, 2024, Silsby engaged in the indecent behavior.
Shaffer said her office gave notice to the court of their intention to seek the higher of the minimum sentence available in the sentencing guidelines.
Silsby must undergo a sexually violent predator evaluation and sentencing is set for May 29.
He remains incarcerated in McKean County Jail on $500,000 bail. He is represented by Warren attorney Alan Conn.
