HARRISBURG — State Rep. Mike Armanini, R-DuBois, shared that more than $230,000 in Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grants were awarded to several local fire and EMS companies in the 75th Legislative District.
“This funding is distributed across the Commonwealth to benefit the heroes of our communities,” Armanini said. “I am happy to see it benefit so many local companies and look forward to seeing the improvements made across the 75th.”
Funding for these grants is awarded for projects including the construction or renovation of fire or ambulance company facilities, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt. The grants are administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner. All companies that apply and meet the requirements outlined by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner receive funding.
Grant recipients in the 75th are as follows: Bennetts Valley Ambulance – $15,000; St. Marys Crystal Fire Department – $15,000; Elkland Search and Rescue – $12,018; Fox Township Ambulance – $14,962; Fox Township Fire Department – $13,309; Horton Township Fire Department – $13,524; Jay Township Fire Department – $12,018; Johnsonburg Fire Department – $12,663; Ridgway Ambulance – $15,000; Ridgway Fire Department – $12,233; Wilcox Fire Department – $12,018; and Wilcox Fire EMS – $15,000.
