The Bradford 10U Blizzard continued their dominant season, securing three hard-fought victories over the weekend to improve to 19-0-1.
In the first game, Bradford edged Cazenovia 7-6 in a back-and-forth battle. Ezra Crozier scored his first career goal, extending the Blizzard’s lead to two. Crozier also made a critical defensive play, blocking a wrist shot with his chest after Cazenovia pulled their goalie in a last-minute push. Griffin Atteberry led the scoring with six goals. With two players missing, Parker Rose stepped up and anchored the defense, helping the Blizzard secure the win.
Game two saw Bradford take down Hamburg 7-4. Jack Rhoades had a breakout performance, netting his first career goal before adding two more for a hat trick. Liam Medina also recorded his first career goal, blasting a shot from near the blue line past the goalie. Emmett Callinan got on the scoresheet for the first time as well, battling in front of the net and sneaking the puck across the goal line. Parker Rose added a goal, while Emmett Speaker also found the back of the net in the win.
The weekend concluded with a thrilling 8-5 overtime victory against Jamestown. Atteberry once again led the offensive charge with five goals and two assists. His second-period goal marked a milestone, as he reached 100 goals on the season.
The game was a nail-biter, with Jamestown taking a 5-4 lead with just 1:03 remaining. As time dwindled, it seemed Bradford might suffer its first loss—until Lily Schine won a puck battle along the boards and fed a pass to Atteberry, who fired a glove-side shot into the net with only 27 seconds left, forcing overtime.
As both teams began leaving the ice, officials ruled there was enough time for a 10-minute overtime period. Carter Geer struck first in OT, breaking away and beating the Jamestown goalie glove-side to put Bradford ahead 6-5. Jamestown responded just 25 seconds later, but Bradford took control from there. Atteberry and Speaker each found the back of the net, sealing the 8-5 victory. Cooper Morris and Yazhier Kervin added key assists.
Karli Frederico, who missed Saturday’s games due to illness, returned with a strong, physical performance against Jamestown’s top skaters. Zedryx Kervin made critical saves all weekend, continuing to be a major factor in Bradford’s success.
