(TNS) — Baby horses will abound during the Super Bowl this year. At least, during some of the commercials anyway.
Budweiser unveiled its new advertisement for Super Bowl LIX today. The spot features the brand’s famous famous Clydesdale horses, with a foal taking the starring role for the first time in over a decade.
Dubbed “First Delivery,” the commercial shows a young foal being left behind as the rest of the horses go to deliver beer. When one of the kegs falls off the rig, the foal jumps over the fence and starts to push it along the road to its destination, all to the tune of “Let Your Love Flow,” a 1976 hit by the Bellamy Brothers.
The commercial is directed by Henry Alex Rubin and created by FCB New York. It’s the 47th Budweiser Super Bowl commercial to feature the brand’s iconic Clydesdale horses.
“Budweiser’s Super Bowl legacy is an important part of our brand history, and through the decades, we’ve secured a place in the hearts of millions of fans with our unforgettable characters, quotable one-liners and heartfelt commercials,” Kristina Punwani, Head of Marketing at Budweiser USA, said in a press release. “With the help of our beloved Clydesdales and a determined foal, this year’s commercial captures our commitment to deliver for consumers since 1876 and toasts to those who put in the hard work it takes to achieve their own goals, despite any obstacles along the way.”
From Feb. 5-7, the Clydesdales will be at as-yet unannounced locations in New Orleans to help celebrate the big game.
Super Bowl LIX starts at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 in New Orleans. It will be aired on Fox.
