In early January Zippo Manufacturing Co. hosted Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity for manufacturing and museum tours as part of the treasurer’s “Made in PA Mondays” initiative. Along with State Rep. Martin Causer and District Director for State Sen. Chris Dush, Zachary Ankeny, Garrity toured the Zippo and Case manufacturing facilities before ending the day at the Zippo/Case Museum & Flagship Store. “Not only are Zippo and Case cornerstones for the city of Bradford and McKean County, but they are storied American brands that have truly stood the test of time,” Treasurer Garrity said. “Each of these iconic companies exemplifies Pennsylvania’s rich history of manufacturing, innovation and determination, and I was thrilled to see that firsthand.” Documenting her visits on Facebook (PA Treasurer Stacy Garrity), Instagram (@PATreasury) and X (@PATreasurer), Treasurer Garrity travels to a different manufacturer each week to highlight the diverse products and services created across each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties. “Zippo and Case each have a proud history and an exciting future right here in Bradford,” said Don Hall, chief financial fficer for Zippo Manufacturing Co. “It was an honor to share some of their stories with Treasurer Garrity.”
Garrity started the social media campaign #MadeInPAMondays to highlight the work being done by manufacturers and makers across Pennsylvania.
“Pennsylvania has a rich history of manufacturing that dates back to before the American Revolution, and manufacturers are vital to our economy. They give back in so many ways, from producing the goods we need in our daily lives to contributing tens of billions of dollars to our economy. I’m excited to recognize manufacturers and makers of all kinds – from a single person building furniture in a small woodshop to large companies with hundreds of employees – through this social media campaign.”
