As of about midday Thursday, nearly 325.2 million bills had been entered for their paths to be tracked, at a total value of nearly $1.75 billion. There had already been nearly 5,000 bills entered that day.
A quick example, a $1 bill in a 1999 series has traveled 14,834 miles in 11 years, 294 days, 3 hours, 1 minute, at an average of 3.4 miles per day. It was given to someone in October 2010 at the Branded Steer Steakhouse in South Range, Wis., and turned up next in December the same year as change for someone topping up on gasoline and Combos in Queen Creek, Ariz.
