To all my fellow citizens who are consoled by the fact they now have a president who reflects their values, please consider this: The events of Jan. 6, 2021, at our nation’s Capitol are well documented.

President Trump called for citizens to join him at the capital that day and encouraged them to “stop the steal.” None of this is spun, made up, or biased journalism.

And now, approximately 1,500 people who were charged with crimes and/or convicted have been pardoned or had their sentences commuted. These people fought and caused bodily injury. Tremendous property damage ensued.

So, if you, too, “love them” and see them as “patriots” then one of your values must be in support of political violence while adhering to law, order, and injustice only when it is convenient.

If you back the blue, don’t be a hypocrite.
