Members of Zonta Club Bradford announced they are accepting applications for the Zonta Club Bradford – Ruth B. Fisher Scholarship.
This scholarship is open to any female seniors at Bradford Area High School who have been accepted into an accredited institution of higher learning. The deadline for applications is March 20.
This year, the club plans to award four recipients scholarships of $1,000 each. The recipients will also be recognized at the club’s scholarship luncheon, held in May.
Ruth B. Fisher was a native of Bradford and a proud Zonta Club member for 23 years. Upon her death in 1978, she named the Zonta Club Bradford as the beneficiary of her estate. With her generous bequest, Zonta Club leaders established this scholarship in her memory.
This scholarship, which is offered yearly, is in keeping with the mission of Zonta International, which seeks to empower women through service and advocacy by providing financial assistance to qualified women who are seeking promising career opportunities.
This year, for the first time, all materials must be submitted online. The form for the application is available at zontaclubbradford.com/application-ruth-b-fisher.
