A two-vehicle accident briefly shut down Route 219 on Wednesday morning from Tack’s Inn to Lantz Corners while emergency personnel responded.
The crash took place at 6:23 a.m. on Route 219 in Lafayette Township. At the time of the incident, the roadway was covered in snow with more coming down, according to the state police report.
A 2016 Subaru Forester, driven by Sydney Huntzinger, 25, of Kane, lost control in the northbound lane. At the same time, a 2024 Ford Edge, whose driver was not named in the report, was traveling in the southbound lane. The two vehicles collided head on, coming to rest in the southbound lane and facing west, according to police.
Huntzinger was transported from the scene for possible injuries. She was taken by Bradford City Fire Department to UPMC Kane, state police reported.
The other driver, 43, of Harrisburg was transported by Bradford City Fire Department to Bradford Regional Medical Center for serious injuries.
Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department, PennDOT and Bradford City Ambulance Service all assisted state police with this crash.
Donovan’s Towing were passing by and used an extinguisher to put out a fire caused by the crash. They also then helped to remove both vehicles from the scene.
The crash is still under investigation, according to police.
