RICHMOND, Va. – The St. Bonaventure University women’s basketball team fell to Richmond, 98-60, Wednesday evening at the Robins Center.
Dani Haskell paced the Bonnies with 14 points. Zoe Shaw and Caitlin Frost also finished in double figures for the Bonnies with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
The Spiders (14-5, 5-1 A-10) used a 9-0 first quarter run to take a 15-5 lead early on before Haskell was able to end the Bonnies scoring drought with a three, cutting the deficit back to seven at the first media timeout.
The two sides traded baskets for the rest of the first period with the Bonnies (5-12, 1-5 A-10) getting scores from Gabby Robinson Forde, Pettinelli, Frost and Haskell, but the Spiders were able to take a 31-21 lead into the second.
Frost made it an eight-point game early in the second with her first three of the contest, making the score 35-27.
Richmond, however, used a 9-0 spurt to push its lead to 17 with 5:02 remaining in the first half.
The hosts used a 17-3 run over the final 4:16 of the half to take a 61-33 lead at the break.
The Spiders did not let up in the third quarter, growing their lead to as many as 39 in the period.
Richmond held onto its lead in the fourth, earning the victory.
Rachel Ullstrom led all scorers with 30 points for the Spiders.
