ELDRED — Carol-Lynn Dubovi, special education teacher at Seneca Valley School District and World War II History buff, will present at the Eldred World War II Museum at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Mitchell Paige Hall.
The event is free and open to the public. Dubovi’s presentation, “Voices from The Holocaust,” an interactive exhibit, invites participants to not only learn about the past but also to consider how these lessons shape our actions and values in the present. Dubovi encourages participants to begin their journey with an independent exploration of her exhibits, which feature artifacts, photographs and documents from the Holocaust in Poland — followed by a time of discussion, questions and reflection.
Dubovi has traveled to England, France, Belgium, Washington,D.C., Eldred and New Orleans to study and learn about WWII and the Holocaust. Last summer, Dubovi participated in a travel seminar to Poland with Classrooms Without Borders to learn about the Holocaust.
Traveling with the teachers was Holocaust survivor Howard Chandler, who offered a unique firsthand account of the perils and atrocities Polish Jews endured. To honor the stories of the people of the Holocaust that Dubovi encountered, she created her interactive exhibit and presentation.
