TOWANDA – The Port Allegany wrestling team took third overall at the Towanda Duals over the weekend.
The Gators went 4-2 on the day, beating Muncy (51-24), Sullivan County (52-23), Spencer Van Etten (N.Y. – 75-0) and Commodore Perry (61-6).
They fell to host Towanda (44-24) and Berks Catholic (48-17).
Aiden Bliss went 6-0 for the Gators with three pins, one tech fall, one major decision and one forfeit, while Brandon Furgeson and Carson Neely both went 5-1. Furgeson had four pins on the day.
“Overall, we wrestled pretty well,” said Port Allegany coach B.J. Greenman. “We’re still trying to get into the swing of the season, but we should really start moving in the right direction over the next few weeks.”
