The Blizzard 10U team extended their undefeated streak to 14-0, sweeping two games in dominant and gritty fashion. They secured an 8-3 victory over Western Door on Saturday and followed it up with a thrilling 4-3 win against Nichols Shamrock on Sunday.
On Saturday, Griffin Atteberry, Parker Rose, and Emmett Speaker spearheaded the offensive attack. Speaker reached a milestone, scoring his 10th goal of the season. Assists were credited to Carter Geer, Emmett Speaker, Jack Rhoades, and Griffin Atteberry. Beyond the scoresheet, Cooper Morris, Karli Frederico, Emmett Callinan, and Yazhier Kervin impressed with their ability to create offensive opportunities while playing strong defense.
Sunday’s game was another nail-biter, as the Blizzard prevailed in their fifth one-goal game of the season. Carter Geer opened the scoring, and Griffin Atteberry delivered a hat trick to secure the victory. Playing on an Olympic-sized rink, which is 15 feet wider than their usual ice surface, the team showcased their adaptability. Liam Medina stood out on defense, making key deflections, while Lily Schine and Ezra Crozier played smart, disciplined hockey. In net, Zedryx Kervin continued his stellar season, anchoring the team to another hard-fought win.
With their record now at 14-0, the Blizzard 10U team continues to prove their mettle in close games and high-pressure situations. They return home on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 10:30 a.m.
