COUDERSPORT — Treasurer Stacy Garrity visited Truck-Lite, a world leading producer of LED lighting systems for commercial trucks, buses and trailers, as a part of her #MadeInPAMondays social media campaign.
The campaign highlights the great work of manufacturers and makers all across Pennsylvania.
Truck-Lite Vice President of Operations Tyler Benedict, Director of Manufacturing Operations Shawn Henderson and Production Manager Alan Gertzen led a tour of the facility.
“Pennsylvania’s manufacturers and makers are a vital part of our economy, and it’s exciting to share the great work they do through the #MadeInPAMondays campaign,” Treasurer Garrity said. “Truck-Lite is a great example of the importance of manufacturing jobs in our rural communities, employing over 1,000 Pennsylvanians. We have a rich history in manufacturing, and a bright future as well. I’ll always support our great manufacturers and the good family-sustaining jobs they bring to every corner of the commonwealth.”
“The trucking industry plays a pivotal role in the U.S. economy delivering goods and providing services across the country. Our high quality and durable LED lighting and harness systems help ensure vehicle safety and uptime which translates to goods reaching consumers on time when they need them,” Benedict said. “We are extremely proud to manufacture our own products across three Pennsylvania facilities for over three decades now. And with the commitment of our talented workforce, we can continue to deliver exceptional products and contribute to the state’s vibrant economy.”
Treasurer Garrity’s #MadeInPAMondays campaign, featured on Instagram (@PATreasury), Twitter (@PATreasurer) and Facebook (PA Treasurer Stacy Garrity), features a different Pennsylvania manufacturer or maker every week.
Manufacturers and makers both large and small have been featured across a wide array of industries, including athletic apparel, automotive, batteries, candy production, concrete, control systems, glassware, guitars, iron, leatherworking, locomotives, medical, military and national defense, pottery, steel, woodworking and many more.
Truck-Lite, founded in 1955, is headquartered in Erie, and has locations in Coudersport, McElhattan and Wellsboro as well as operations in the United Kingdom and Mexico.
Truck-Lite produces forward and safety lighting, wiring harness, turn signal and safety accessories for original equipment manufacturer and aftermarket customers in the medium- and heavy-duty commercial transportation industry. The company holds more than 250 patents and works closely with the transportation and defense industries.
Truck-Lite recently relocated its corporate headquarters to Penn State Behrend Campus to further broaden the partnership with the state. Truck-Lite continues to invest in its facilities, add new products and create more jobs, representatives said.
