OLEAN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College’s class of 2024 Nursing program graduates achieved a 95% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination.
The NCLEX is a rigorous examination that serves as a critical benchmark for nursing graduates seeking licensure to practice as registered nurses in New York.
JCC graduates achieved better exam results than their peers around the country and state. The national pass rate for all nursing programs was 89.19%, and the pass rate for New York state nursing programs was 88.88%
JCC had 61 take the exam, including the first cohort of four students in the St. Bonaventure University dual program.
“Our graduates’ success on the NCLEX reflects their hard work, dedication, and the exceptional education they receive at JCC,” said Heather Burrell, director of the Nursing program at JCC. “We’re proud to see them surpass state and national benchmarks, and JCC is committed as ever to develop and prepare future nurses to deliver high-quality care in our local communities.”
JCC’s Nursing program was ranked 23 of 69 associate degree programs in New York by the Nursing Schools Almanac in 2024. JCC was also one of only 13 associate degree programs in New York state last year to earn a 100% pass rate.
