Bradford man jailed for alleged threat with knife
A Bradford man was sent to jail following arraignment Wednesday on allegations of threatening to kill someone with a knife.
Michael S. Carpenter, 32, of 41 Main St., Apt. 401, is charged with terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary offense.
According to the criminal complaint, on Dec. 5, Carpenter threatened another man with a knife, telling him “you aren’t leaving this room alive,” and then followed the man back to his apartment. A witness told police he had also seen Carpenter pull the knife on the victim.
Carpenter was arraigned before District Judge Rich Luther and remanded to jail in lieu of $20,000 bail. He is scheduled for Central Court on Dec. 19.
Hearing waived on drug allegation
A Bradford woman will face drug charges in McKean County Court after waiving a hearing before District Judge Rich Luther.
Kelcie R. Moffett, 22, of 19 Walker Ave. Apt. 2, is charged with selling non-controlled substances represented as controlled, a felony; and criminal use of a communication facility, a third-degree felony.
According to the criminal complaint, on May 10, Moffett arranged a sale of what she said was crack to a confidential informant of the McKean County Drug Task Force. The substance was buspirone, an anti-anxiety medication that is not a controlled substance.
She remains jailed on $50,000 bail. She is represented by Bellefonte attorney Brian Manchester.
