Olean man charged after drugs found on traffic stop, police said
An Olean, N.Y., man is in McKean County Jail for having drugs in his vehicle when he was stopped in Bradford on Saturday.
Cody Hatch, 40, of 1 Leo Moss Drive, is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, 12 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI.
According to the criminal complaint, at 12:57 a.m. Saturday, a state policeman traveling on West Washington Street saw a vehicle coming toward him that turned its headlights off twice. The trooper stopped the vehicle at Country Fair. While speaking to Hatch, the trooper saw marijuana inside the vehicle and asked Hatch to step out. The trooper got permission to search the vehicle and found three baggies of cocaine, one metal container of cocaine, two tin foil folds containing methamphetamine, one metal container containing meth, a rubber container with cocaine and several items of paraphernalia.
The trooper asked Hatch when he used last; he said he had smoked marijuana and used cocaine that morning when he woke up. He failed field sobriety tests, the complaint stated.
Hatch was arraigned before District Judge Bill Todd and remanded to jail in lieu of $75,000 bail. He is scheduled for Central Court Dec. 5.
Bradford man charged for allegedly breaking jail camera
A Bradford man was arraigned Monday on charges alleging he broke a camera at McKean County Jail.
Raymond Allen, 23, of 16 Oxford St., is charged with institutional vandalism, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, at 5:30 a.m. Nov. 15, Allen ripped a surveillance camera off the wall, permanently damaging the camera. Sheriff Dan Woods provided video evidence which showed Allen climb onto the toilet located within the cell, and then reached up with both arms and proceeded to pull the camera from the wall. The camera was permanently damaged as the wires were ripped from the connection port.
Allen was arraigned before District Judge Bill Todd. He was returned to jail on $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 2.
