SHINGLEHOUSE — Bradford built an early lead and didn’t let it go, scoring seven runs over the first three innings before managing a victory at Oswayo Valley.
In doing so, the Owls snapped a six-game losing streak, as Jack Wells went 2-for-2 with three RBI to lead an 11-6 victory. Talan Reese picked up his first varsity victory on the mound, tossing three innings before giving way to a trio of relievers who preserved his lead.
“We got a good lead, then we gave some walks and (OV) had some timely hits that kept them in the game,” Bradford coach Eric Haynoski said. “Our defense played pretty solid and was able to preserve the win.”
Ryan Ward had a hit, run and two RBI for Bradford, which benefitted from four OV errors in the game. Alec Harmon and Caiden Goode each had two hits for OV, while Cayden Black and Ian Bilski each drove in two runs.
The Owls improved to 4-7 on the year, while OV fell to 2-11.
“We were able to get a lot of different kids in the lineup, and some that don’t normally get a lot of time got big hits for us,” Haynoski said. “We have to hopefully keep this going.”
