Erie News Now and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania will host the 24th Annual Erie News Now Food Drive on Wednesday at 13 locations throughout northwest Pennsylvania.
The drive, going on from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., benefits Second Harvest Food Bank and its 394 partner agencies. At Northwest Bank branches in McKean County, monetary donations, non-perishable food donations and turkeys will be accepted in Bradford at 33 Main St. and 950 E. Main St., in Smethport at 428 W. Main St. and at 56 Fraley St. in Kane.
Last year, a total of $42,755.20 and 29,650 pounds of food were collected, including 567 turkeys. Donations during the all-day event will help Second Harvest provide meals for those experiencing food insecurity this holiday season.
