WARREN — Marienville Trail Riders Snowmobile Club is one of five 65th Legislative District recipients set to collectively receive nearly $500,000 for recreation and conservation projects.
The Marienville club will receive $39,400 to maintain and construct roughly 200 miles of trails in six counties including Forest and Warren.
Also, the Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission is to receive $100,000 to coordinate and fund the 2025 Northwest Pennsylvania Greenways mini grant program.
Rep. Kathy L. Rapp, R-Warren, announced the funding is available from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) through its Community Conservation Partnerships Program.
The other organizations selected to receive this funding are:
Cambridge Springs Borough – $122,500 for upgrades to Cambridge Springs Recreation Park.
Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry and Tourism – $50,000 to prepare an updated river management plan for 107 miles of the Allegheny River from Kinzua Dam to Emlenton Borough.
Warren City – $184,900 for upgrades to Point Park.
“One of our district’s best assets is the wide variety of ways we have to enjoy nature,” Rapp said. “This funding will provide even more opportunities to get outside and appreciate one of the most beautiful corners of our commonwealth!”
