The Bradford Blizzard improved to 3-0 this weekend, narrowly defeating Jamestown 5-4 in a thrilling back-and-forth matchup. Jamestown came out firing, scoring just six seconds into the game with a quick shot off the opening faceoff. Bradford responded minutes later when Griffin Atteberry intercepted a pass, carried it the length of the ice, and beat the Jamestown goalie with a smooth glove-side shot. Atteberry went on to lead Bradford’s offense, scoring all five of the team’s goals.
With around four minutes left in the game, Bradford finally broke the deadlock. Jamestown, however, kept pressing, holding the puck in Bradford’s zone and applying heavy pressure on goalie Zedryx Kervin, who held firm under fire. The line of Ezra Crozier, Emmett Speaker, and Yazhier Kervin stepped up defensively, with Crozier blocking a shot that could have been dangerous. In the next shift, Karli Frederico managed to nudge the puck out of the zone, forcing Jamestown to regroup and giving Bradford some breathing room.
With only five seconds remaining, an exhausted Atteberry gained control of the puck and managed to clear it, sealing Bradford’s hard-fought victory. Newcomer Jack Rhoades contributed valuable minutes, showing confidence on the ice while paired with forward Emmett Callinan. Carter Geer saw significant ice time as well, helping to set up strong offensive opportunities for teammates like Lily Schine, who has a knack for finding open space. Parker Rose and Liam Medina were stalwarts on defense, limiting Jamestown’s scoring chances and keeping shots to the outside.
The win showcased a strong team effort as Bradford continues its unbeaten streak.
