When politicians mute their voices in the face of one man’s promise to ignore the Constitution; when leaders fail to speak when women are denied basic reproductive care when their very lives are at stake; when that same man threatens to deport millions of men, women and children who are living peaceful and productive lives among us; when that same man suggests the execution of four-star generals who have only performed their sworn duty under that same Constitution; when he calls for the arrest and incarceration of those who oppose him; when even billionaires cower before the possibility of his being elected president of these United States; when that same candidate positively references a fictional character named Hannibal Lector who casually mentioned dining “with a nice chianti” on the liver of an adversary — and no one speaks up — then our silence makes lambs of us all.
