The Kinzua Bridge State Park Complex will offer November programs at Kinzua Bridge State Park, Bendigo State Park and Elk State Park.
Turkey Tales is set for 1 p.m. Nov. 8. Brush up on your history of this well-known game bird by joining staff in the top floor exhibits to hear about how turkeys were a rare sight in Pennsylvania forests during the 1900s, but good conservation efforts helped to bring their population numbers back from the brink.
A short lecture near the flagpole at noon Nov. 11 will discuss the history behind Veterans Day, including when we started celebrating it and why.
From noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at Elk State Park, join staff at the Instanter Boat Launch for Ghosts on the Grade. Hear about the villages of Instanter and Straight that were once stops along the Johnsonburg Clermont Railroad, but now lay at the bottom of East Branch Clarion River Lake. View tools and items pulled from the mud that were once used by the villagers of Instanter. Bring your boots and after the program, take a walk around the shoreline among the foundations of these long-lost villages while water levels are low.
Dress for the weather for any programs held outdoors.
