I am writing to endorse the re-election of Pennsylvania State Treasurer Stacy Garrity. As a decorated combat veteran with 30 years of service, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the treasurer’s office.
She has successfully returned more than $660,000 in unclaimed property to McKean County and has diligently managed the state’s $160 billion in assets, acting as a committed fiscal watchdog. In May 2023, Garrity led a coalition of 32 financial officers from 26 states in addressing concerns to President Biden and the Federal Housing Finance Agency about a new rule that would increase costs for responsible homebuyers, resulting in higher monthly mortgage payments for those with good credit.
In September 2021, she collaborated with 23 state financial officers to urge Biden and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to reject a proposal requiring banks and credit unions to report transactions over $600 to the IRS, raising significant privacy issues for individuals and businesses.
Garrity’s dedication to public safety is highlighted by endorsements from esteemed law enforcement groups such as the State Troopers Association and the Fraternal Order of Police. Even former President Trump recognized her contributions, stating, “great job you’re doing.”
With her proven results and unwavering commitment to the people of Pennsylvania, Stacy Garrity is the clear choice for re-election as treasurer. Let’s continue to support her efforts for our state’s future.
