The Bradford Lady Owls competed in the TSTCA Championships Thursday, Oct. 17 at White Oak Park. The Owls placed 14th in a competitive race with a large number of WPIAL schools.
Rylann Terwilliger was 74th in 23:02.
“Rylann continues to have a great year, this was her best time on a true 5k course,” Bradford head coach Mark Kelley said.
Joleen Weimer was 77th in 23:14 and Jennifer Bouquin was 80th in 23:28.
“Jen and Joleen both got out well in a very crowded race and finished hard,” Coach Kelley said.
Other results for Bradford include Addison Benson finishing 100th in 24:09, Brooke Clouser 127th in 25:15, Anna Benedict 132nd in 25:30, Brianna Haven 155th in 27:26, Madison Vinelli 159th in 27:38, and Olivia Funk 167th in 28:53.
“This was a very good race for us a week before districts. It was competitive and all of the girls ran very hard,” Coach Kelley said.
The Lady Owls middle school team also competed last week, as they concluded their season on Friday Oct. 18 at the NWPA Invitational in Erie, Pa. The Lady Owls placed seventh with 142 points.
Olivia Rhoades led the way with a 25th place finish in 14:23 on the 2-mile course. Addie Pilon finished 27th in 14:34, Kora Pennell 31st in 14:58, Mariah Hallock 37th in 15:14, Emma Herne 59th in 16:37, Amelia Pautler 72nd in 17:53, Addison Terwilliger 74th in 17:55, Vivien Orris 80th in 19:36 and Rozlynn Foster 81st in 20:30.
“These girls had an outstanding year and I’m very proud of their hard work throughout the entire year,” coach Kelly said. “It was a fun year and I enjoyed having all these girls on the team.”
The Lady Owls varsity team will race at the District 9 championship meet Saturday at Ridgway. The Class 2A girls race is scheduled for 12 p.m. at Francis Grandinetti Elementary school.
