RIDGWAY — The Bradford Lady owls cross country team competed at the Ridgway Invitational Saturday, placing 12th with 286 points.
“This was a good day to see the district competition and where we would stack up in three weeks at the district meet,” said Bradford coach Mark Kelley. “We had some unfortunate unforeseen things that happened, but we have a few races left to come back.”
Jennifer Bouquin was 42nd in 23:28.
“Jen had another great race,” Kelley said. “She has become very consistent at the top for us.”
Rylann Terwilliger was 52nd in 24:01.
“Rylann had a great race and was in the top 30 when she stopped to help another runner who had fallen down,” Kelley said. “She was able to make sure that runner was okay before continuing the race.”
Joleen Weimer was 66th in 24:49.
“Joleen continues to improve and run hard with each race.,” Kelly said.
Brooke Clouser was 81st in 25:52.
“Brooke also stopped to help one of her teammates who had gone down during the second mile,” Kelley said.
Olivia Funk was 100th in 28:42, Addison Benson was 101st in 28:44 and Madison Vinelli was 102nd in 29:35.
“The girls ran hard,” Kelley said. “I give a lot of credit to Rylann and Brooke for helping other runners to make sure they were okay. We have two more meets before districts so we have some time to sharpen up.”
The Lady Owls middle school team placed second with 81 points. Fort LeBoeuf was first with 40 points. Addie Pilon led the way with a 3rd place finish in a time of 11:18.
“This was the second fastest time for a Bradford middle school girl on that course.”
Neveah Gomez was 23rd in 12:35, Olivia Rhoades was 25th in 12:37, Mariah Hallock was 30th in 12:50, Kora Pennell was 32nd in 13:06, Emma Herne was 41st in 13:33, Amelia Pautler was 72nd in 15:20, Addison Terwilliger was 75th in 15:42, Vivien Orris was 80th in 17:41 and Rozlynn Foster was 84th in 19:08.
“These girls ran hard against a tough Fort LeBoeuf team,” Kelley said. “They’ve got two more races left in the season to finish hard.”
The Lady Owls return to action Saturday at the Alden Bulldog Stampede in Alden, N.Y.
