HARRISBURG (TNS) — Former President Donald Trump is planning to return to the Pennsylvania site of the assassination attempt in July.
CBS News reported Tuesday that Trump will hold a rally at the Butler Farm Show fairgrounds on Oct. 5 in Butler County.
Trump’s campaign has not released any details about a Butler rally.
On Wednesday morning, KDKA-TV reporter Jennifer Barrasso in Pittsburgh reported that sources told her the Butler Farm Show committee had signed an agreement to host the Trump rally.
The rifle attack by sniper Thomas Crooks of Bethel Park, Pa., grazed Trump’s ear, killed one audience member and wounded two others on July 13 before Crooks was killed by law enforcement.
Trump has repeatedly vowed to return to Butler for a rally. Since the shooting, Trump has spoken at rallies behind bulletproof glass, CBS News said.
A Florida man was caught with a rifle in bushes on a golf course where Trump was playing on Sept. 15. Federal prosecutors have charged Ryan Wesley Routh with attempting to assassinate a political figure.
