REDBANK VALLEY 52, RIDGWAY 16
NEW BETHLEHEM — Braylon Wagner threw for four touchdowns and ran for two more as Redbank Valley beat Ridgway, 52-16, in a rare Monday night football game in District 9.
The game was originally scheduled Friday but was postponed due to a public safety threat at Ridgway High School.
The Bulldogs (3-1) got a chance to take out some of their frustrations following their 66-38 loss to Port Allegany the week before.
Wagner threw a pair of touchdown passes in the first quarter, a 30-yarder to Jaxon Huffman and a 15-yarder to Rylan Rupp to stake Redbank Valley to an early 14-0 lead.
Ridgway’s Rocco Delhunty scored on a 1-yard touchdown run and the 2-point conversion was good, getting the Elkers (1-3) to within 14-8, but the rest of the quarter was all Redbank.
Wagner broke free on a 21-yard touchdown run, tossed a 30-yard score to Breckin Minich, then after a Kieran Fricko 31-yard field goal, Wagner threw his fourth touchdown pass of the half and second to Rupp, a 10-yarder to make it 38-8 at halftime.
Delhunty had the lone points of the third quarter, a 4-yard touchdown scamper to make it 38-16 at the 5:45 mark.
The Bulldogs put the exclamation point on the game in the fourth when Wagner danced along the sideline and broke free for a 25-yard touchdown run, and Austin Eastlick broke free for a 90-yard score.
The Bulldogs, who have scored at least 38 points in every game so far this season, travel to play Keystone on Friday. Ridgway, meanwhile, hosts Coudersport on Friday.
