The Office of Human Services Area Agency on Aging announced the September menus at its senior centers in McKean, Elk and Cameron counties.
Meals are offered to seniors at no cost, but donations are appreciated and are used to support the centers. People younger than 60, center staff and guests pay $6.50.
At the Eldred and Smethport centers, the first meal there is free for anyone who just turned 60 years old, or if it is the first time you’ve had a meal at the center.

For the week of Sept. 16 the menus are:
Sept. 16 – Swiss steak with onion gravy, whipped potatoes, diced carrots, blushed pears
Sept. 17 – Creamy garlic chicken breast, buttered noodles, roasted Brussels sprouts, mandarin oranges
Sept. 18 – Baked meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, peas, gelatin
Sept. 19 – Traditional lasagna, tossed salad, garlic breadstick, cottage cheese, peaches
Sept. 20 – Baked lemon pepper fish, rice, California blend vegetables, roll, fresh fruit
Only at the Smethport Senior Center, specialty desserts are prepared off-site on particular days. During the week of Sept. 16, sign up for lunch Sept. 18, baked meatloaf with gravy, and get a homemade rice crispy treat.
