Fun and educational projects are planned for this weekend at Kinzua Bridge State Park.
Saturday at the park will be a wildflower walk at 11 a.m. It will be a short walk around the main park area looking for nature’s beauties. Meet in front of the visitors center.
At 2 p.m. there will be a program on “Leave the leaves.” Join staff at the pop-up table outside near the Skywalk to learn about how many butterflies, fireflies and other insects spend the winter under leaf piles, and how the simple act of leaving the fall leaves on the ground can support their population.
At 2 p.m. Sunday will be a program on nature journaling. Join park staff behind the visitors center near the Skywalk, borrow some art supplies and try your hand at nature journaling. No need to be a professional; artists of all skill levels are welcome. Staff will go over the basics of starting a nature journal, as well as some tips and tricks for capturing and finding inspiration in the world around you.
