Just say when — really, we mean it, when might TJ Maxx open in Bradford?

On Tuesday, a company spokesperson wouldn’t commit to a “when.”

“We anticipate that the new TJ Maxx store in Bradford will open in the future,” a spokesperson said. Are we looking at months or years in the future? She wouldn’t commit to a time frame, saying only that The Era would be added to a media list to “receive the grand opening press release when it is ready for distribution closer to the opening date.”

Rumor has it that the store will locate at the vacant space of Gordmans at the Bradford Mall, but the company wouldn’t confirm a location, either.

TJ Maxx is an American department store chain, selling at prices generally lower than other major similar stores. It has more than 1,000 stores in the United States, making it one of the largest clothing retailers in the country. Parent company TJX also operates Marshalls, of which there is one in Olean, N.Y., as well as HomeGoods, Sierra and Homesense.

The Gordmans store at the Bradford Mall opened in February 2020, right before the start of the pandemic, and shut down only months later.
